I bought this book hoping it would give me insight into why I was feeling depressed. But it didn’t. It gave pratical advice and just wasn’t good enough.

Depression is a big problem in our society and I believe Paul’s book will help those in need. So, if you know anyone who could benefit from the information in this book, please get this book for them. Paul Wider is a good friend of many years and he has always been a sincere, caring and spiritual person. I also purchased a copy of his book with the intention of giving it to someone who I thought might need it. I recommend, before you do give the book to that special someone, read it yourself. The information inside will help you to help someone else.

I feel sympathetic toward this author because he is also bipolar and he wrote a book to help others with his best intentions and best resources… however, I found it to be almost childish in its lack of sophistication. I think a young teen or older child would be able to use the book to get started on the road to recovery with bipolar illness. For me, I read the whole book in about 20 minutes. It is full of lists, little drawings and charts and a very personalized and narrow perspective on tools and techniques to help oneself through the ups and downs of the illness. It’s not a very good book. In fact, it really is poorly written and lacking in substance. Sorry.

This book is truly user-friendly, and gives one the sense that the author genuinely understands and cares. The tone comes across as a heart-to-heart chat in the den or family room with a trusted friend. The many helpful insights and facts make this an edition you will want to refer back to again and again. It is also a convenient size to carry with you during the day. I recommend it both to those who have ever lived with depression and those who wish to better understand and help people who are affected.

I encountered a feeling reading this Relative’s book that led me to truly believe that there may be hope for those of us out here who DO NOT want our lives to be “Doped Up” to cover the Symptoms of a sometimes VERY Debilitating Disease, which has Both Genetic, as well as Environmental, origins! I can see (And feel) that there was a lot of Blood, Sweat and …yes Tears .. Put into the release of this book … and I hope that it continues to improve .. And also that a “Sequel” is Someday added to the Archives. I would also like to see a chapter including the typically “Asian” cures likes Homeopathic Cures & the use of Herbs and other “Natural” ingredients that do not cause Medicinal Side Effects that sometimes Ruin a peson’s life, rather than HELPING THEM!
